Pacific Light Data Communication Co. Ltd. (PLDC), a holding subsidiary of Dr. Peng Group, has work jointly with Google and Facebook to build the world's first submarine cable from Hong Kong to Los Angeles (Pacific Light Cable Network, or PLCN). The preparation for the submarine cable project had begun since late 2015. It is designed to be 12,800 km long, with 6 pairs of optical fibers, of which PLDC owns four. PLCN boasts ultra-high capacity submarine transmission, providing customers with more sophisticated and stable communication services with better quality.
